The Gambian School for Arts and Culture is a collaboration of artists, musicians, and cultural organizers in Gambia, the UK, and the US. We have been hosting visitors from the west for over 15 years, and will ensure that your experience is a positive one. There are many references available for our program if you would like to speak with others who have gone before you.
While in the Gambia you will be under the care of Bakary Kanyi. You will stay with him, or nearby, and will eat meals with his family. He will be the one responsible for your stay and for organizing your lessons. Lessons are arranged with a large group of local teachers, some of whom are long term staff and some of whom change over time.
If you are a student, you may be eligible for study abroad credits from your school, although we are not technically yet a certified educational institution (we are working on this!).
